The Battle For Neverland…an combo edited version (from “Spirits” and “And the Earth Bleeds”) used on the trailer for PAN…the new Peter Pan movie.
PEACE ON SATURN …Hitched a ride with some Dolphin friends to their vacation home on Saturn. Stayed on the saturn waterfront. John Pirruccello brought his steel guitar, I played some melody and rhythm basses (baritone guitar) and we entertained our hosts. Mickie made a video of the trip. PEACE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuJFE69KURg

“Free” the vocal version from “and the Earth Bleeds”, There is a re-mixed & re-arranged instrumental version on the new album “Spirits” http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/ErikScott
I had completely written and recorded “Free” as an instrumental, when we took a trip to the Scottish Highlands and Edinburgh last August 2013.There I was reminded of the price some people have paid for their freedom, in this case William Wallace, former Guardian of Scotland (remember Braveheart?). It seemed that I needed to say a few words…not a lot…just a few. The melody, originally written on bass, took on such a haunting beauty when played on the veille (medieval violin) by Shira Kammen, that it seemed obvious it was the music to which I should write the lyrics that became “Free”. Paul Ebersold contributed to these. Ana Maria Botero, who along with guitarist Pablo Andres form the group RottViolent, graced the song with her voice. And Michael Scott from Sonia Dada contributed chorus vocals. I took some of the photos from Scotland and with the help of Jan Uvena made the video you see above.

Featuring a veille (medieval violin) and fretless bass, “Gypsy Mother and the Royal Bastard” features the marvelous Shira Kammen on the veille, trading melody with the fretless bass, a more unusual duet perhaps. Working with Kira Carrillo Corser and her images, we tried to portray the visual theme in synergy with the music, to allow interpretation, while still presenting a point of view. The music has been edited down from the album version, and I do regret the shortening of the intro, with Shira’s very cool melodic interpretation, and I miss it, and hope you get a chance to hear the complete intro on record…

‘Other Planets” If I was Leonard Nimoy, I could say “Come along as we journey thru some of the
vast spaces in Erik’s brain”…but Mr. Spock isn’t here at the moment, so I will merely mention that this is the first time I put images to one of my musical space voyages.

Vocal version of “And The Earth Bleeds”. Kira Carrillo Corser, a photo-artist who uses art to further her environmental efforts, asked to use the music to introduce a convention concerning climate change in Sacramento California in August 2014. I was delighted to allow this, and she used her images to make this music video, as an effort to further encourage people to be aware of the situation. This vocal version is available from the same titled album, and an instrumental remix version is available on “Spirits”.

We are trying to figure out a way for friends to comment, but the spammers and high-jackers jump all over any website like this and soon overrun it with their ads. So for now, if you’re a friend and would like to chat, or comment, I have a FB artist page, where you are invited to come by and hang…cheers.
